CHECK OUT SOME EXPO HIGHLIGHTS!

Teruko Nimura creating a piece of 3D art

Meet Teruko Nimura

Join City of Tacoma Environmental Services Artist in Residence Teruko Nimura for a family friendly hands-on art activity and learn more about our carbon footprint. Bring a stray sock or two to create instant mini clay sculptures that will be included in a future community art installation. Go home with a personalized ceramic sock magnet as a daily reminder to reduce, reuse, and recycle!

Learn How You Can Save Money!

Join us for our panel discussion at UW Tacoma during the Sustainability Expo from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at Keystone 102. Discover the world of Electrification and explore how YOU can access funds for various home projects, whether you’re a renter or a homeowner. Our panel features experts from Tacoma Public Utilities and The Switch Is On Washington, offering a comprehensive crash course on electrification, product discovery, available rebates/funding, and guidance on selecting contractors.

Craft Supply Exchange

Come swap ’til you drop at the Expo! Hosted Check out our Craft Supply Swap, hosted by Remakery Tacoma & Tacoma Sew Club. Bring any new or gently used craft supplies and swap with other donated craft items for free! What to bring: crafting supplies for painting, drawing, paper, fabric, sewing machine, yarn, embroidery, beading, scrapbooking, scissors, tools, tape, books, or kits are all great for the swap! A good rule of thumb is if you can buy it at an art or craft store, it’s good to donate.

For 16 years, the South Sound Sustainability Expo has been the region’s largest community celebration of all things sustainability. This free, family-friendly event features activities, presentations, performances, and art exhibits.
